Animation Videos

Punk Economics

In this Punk Economics from David McWilliams, we animated, filmed and edited his ideas on the irrationality of a lot of the financial decisions we make. The starting point for the animation is McWilliams’ own text:

“At its root, most economics – and economists – start with the fundamental assumption that people are rational, and thus will make logical choices. This would be wonderful, but it’s not true. If there’s one thing we can take from this current crisis – and all the ones before, it’s this: irrationality is everywhere.”

The video features two great tracks from Galway band It Was All A Bit Black & White.

Punk Economics

You can tell we love working with David McWilliams, right? In this Punk Economics episode, which we filmed, edited and produced, McWilliams discusses whether a European Tea Party will emerge. Says McWilliams, “The Financial Times this week believes so. What do you think? 2014 is a big year for Europe with parliamentary elections in June. The economies are still very weak, but financial markets are roaring ahead and Brussels is in triumphant mood. Can this continue? Here’s our take. We’d like to hear yours.

Punk Economics

A highlight from our ongoing relationship with Punk Economics and David McWilliams which we produced, filmed and edited. Here, McWilliams talks about the effects of shrinking crop stockpiles, increases in biofuel demand and commodity speculation. These changes herald a possible end for cheap, accessible food across the world and the content of his City Talk explored how cities can respond: complex ideas which we distilled with our unique live animation.

This text launched to a full house in Sydney in November 2012 at a Sydney Talk Event. The music, by the way, is from Mutefish, Eric McGrath and It Was All A Bit Black & White – great bands which we recommend you check out!

ACS

We pride ourselves on working with clients to elicit, understand and present their messages and stories to wide audiences in simple ways. This video for ACS, the Association of Convenience Stores, which is the voice of over 33,500 local shops in the UK does just that. We were approached to create this video for them by a third party, who we worked with to get a full brief on the organisation.
